Herschel follows a formalized testing process and protocol, developed with SGS as our nominated third party lab. We currently organize restricted substance testing, based on the strictest global requirements; including, but not limited to, European REACH requirements and current California Prop 65 case settlements. Please see below for details on specific materials:

TPE – All our 600D recycled fabric products have a Thermoplastic Elastomer coating.

BPA – All of our products are BPA free

Lead – Fabric/zipper are lead free.

Phthalate – Fabric/buckle are 6P passed.

In instances where Water Resistance coatings are used we use ‘C0 WR’ which does not contain PFAS.

Testing is conducted at the material and component level for our styles, as most of the fabrics and components are used on multiple styles. We also run testing on completed styles; including children’s safety as per the CPSC; on selected final products.
